Midi

My first attempt with midi skirts, I have never worn this length at all. I like to go short or long just as my shoes, either high or flat (^_^)
What do you thing? Suits me?
The problem with midi length is that you need to ear it with heels which is not that convenient and versatile at times.

Fahmee Bakery & Jamaican Food

I have been coming to Fahmee Bakery & Jamaican Food for many many years now. I will have craving for their Jerk Pork Coco Bread almost once a month and I've even got Ben addicted (^v^)

Coco Bread is originally from Jamaican or some area of Caribbean which contain coconut milk, slightly sweet. It's normally cut into half and stuffed with meat or a whole patty.

Fahmee is a very tiny place mainly for takeout although they do have a bench by the window.
Please be prepare to have line up if you drop by on the weekend.
They have one of the best patties available both fresh or frozen and you'll see people buying by the dozens to bring home.
It is Chinese own but all their food is very authentic since the majority of their clientele are Jamaican.

Strawberry Lemonade

See I'm putting my Antique coffee carafe from here to good use (^_^)

I hosted a BBQ last week at home and wanted to make a non-alcoholic drink. Decided to make a Strawberry Lemonade but of course I have vodka & rum readily available that can be added if needed =P

I originally wanted to do Basil Strawberry Lemonade but I totally forgot to buy basil since the plant at home is not helping this year =(

Ingredients :
  1 cup granulated sugar
 6-8 cups water
1 cup Strawberry puree
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

Cook the sugar with 2 cups of water over medium-high heat until the sugar is fully dissolved.
Turn off the heat and let it cool. If you want to try the Basil version, add a handful to the pot when it's still hot, cover and let it steep for 15-20 minutes. Taste and if the basil flavor isn't strong enough, let it steep for another 10-15 minutes. Measure out 1 cup of the syrup.

In a large pitcher, combine strawberry puree, lemon juice, the cool down syrup. Stir and add 4 cups of water, taste and if too strong add more water. Chill or blend with ice if in a rush.

Note: You can always use frozen berries/strawberries when fresh is not on-hand.

This was a success, all my friends love it and even preferred this over beer (^_^)

Cafe Mania

Went to Cafe Mania back in May and haven't come around to blog about it since it wasn't as good as I expected it to be. The crepe that we had was no good at all and the service was lacking. I have heard good things about this place and have pass by thousand of times but I was very disappointed, maybe I was there at a wrong time and day (>_<)

As decor was were comfy for the small space

A super large cup of Latte for me and Ben order an iced Americano, both of them was ok

Mania's Darling
~ fresh apple slices, walnut, vanilla ice cream, caramel fudge and cinnamon
This waffle was very very pretty and tasted equally good... it was warm and fluffy. The sour apple with the crunchy walnuts, sweet caramel and cold ice cream just complimented each other perfectly.
Yummy Flower waffle (^v^)

CENO

As you may have known from my shoutout here, it was Ben's birthday a few weeks ago and I treated him to dinner at Ceno. I got a dealfind deal ahead and have been planing to use it for this special day.

a bottle of RED + bread sticks (love the height)

The bread was not that great but the green olives tapenade was heavenly

Equine Tartare
~ drizzled w/ white truffle oil & top w/ a fresh quail egg
I love how this horse tartare is loosely packed but the sauce was a bit too thick and strong that I can't taste the actual meat taste. But I have to say, my fave horse meat is still the Horse meat sandwich from Black Hoof with the spicy chili sauce =P

Green Day & Night

Since we live uptown, we tend to spend whole day in downtown during the weekend especially when we have lunch and dinner plans.... for a fashionista like me (heehee, I call myself a fashionista lol) it means finding something comfy and casual enough for lunch and to walk around in but which can dress up for dinner time (^_^)

This is a great example of what I usually do, change shoes and bag or even jewelry =D
Here I switch my flats to a high heel bootie and my big bag for a color blocking clutch.
What do you think?!?
I could have even gone a bit dressier with a pair of heels and change to some bigger piece of gold jewelry or even a thick belt =P

Love this dress from H&M which was around $15, I can think of so many ways to remix ♥

How about you? Any tips for transitioning from day to night?

The Queen and Beaver (post #2)

Went by after work for a drink with friends, it was a belated birthday dinner for Ben.
Just want to do a quick post, I already did a post here for The Queen and Beaver Public House but didn't had these sandwich last time.

The 4 of us, after having 2 pork scratchings and a few drinks, we finally decided to order some food (^_^)

Recommended my friend to have Hand Chopped Burger & Chips that we had before from previous post here which was very yummy juicy.
