Acadia

I pass by Acadia many time since we usually park at the green P next to i when we are in the area. Finally read some great reviews about it and decided to make a reservation right away. The decor here are pretty casual and simple but the food is anything but the complete opposite.

Since we can't decide what to order, we went ahead with the Tasting Menu

Prettiest and tastiest pickled veggies (^_^)

Corn Bread w/ maple pumpkin butter
It was warm, spongy and moist, perfect with the super tasty butter. Just warm you right up in the cold and rainy fall weather.

The Beauty of Fall

We were driving by this small park, but it was so beautiful that I just had to stop and take a few pics.

megalomaniac & Tawse (Niagara-on-the-Lake ~ Pt 5)

After a night of good rest after all the wine and food here, here, here and here; took my dad for a quick tour of Niagara Falls, then it's time to head back home. On our way home, we have to stop by my recent favorite winery : megalomaniac. This is a relatively new winery and I first tried it at a restaurant in Toronto but couldn't find it in LCBO, only recently they started to have 2 available which is simply name White (which is a Riesling that I love) and Red (not a big fan).

Their winery are very simply and hidden, you will definitely not be able to see it when driving by unless you see their small roadside sign (>_<)
It's a relatively small winery compare to the previous ones we visited the previous day but love their simple design and the building sort of blend in the small hilltop there (^v^)

Love the bird's eye view of the estate

Hillebrand Winery (Niagara-on-the-Lake ~ Pt 4-1/2)

Took some picture around Hillebrand before our dinner here. It was so pretty.....

Hillebrand Winery (Niagara-on-the-Lake ~ Pt 4, Dinner)

After a lot of wine tasting here, here and here; we rested at the hotel for a bit before heading over to Hillebrand Winery for our wine pairing dinner. Hillbrand is Peller's sister winery and it's one of the most popular Wine Paring destination, 2nd to none other than Peller (^_^)

Very simple decor but I like the one at Peller Estate much more due to the more modern and bright open window dinning area whereas the one here is a bit dated... but it doesn't matter when the food pairing is perfect; to me it's perfect when you are serve a certain type of wine that you don't normally like but end up liking it pair with the dish =D

The bread was fresh and delicious, we ask for seconds =P

It's been a while and I frankly don't remember the exact name of each dish, so I'm just going to get a quick post.

Inniskillin Winery (Niagara-on-the-Lake ~ Pt 3)

After our lunch plus tasting here and a few more stop here, we proceed to our next stop at Inniskillin Winery since I wanted my dad to try their Ice Wine although both of us are not a big fan of the sweetness.... but it's something that you have to try since when you are in Canada since we have the perfect weather for crafting Ice Wine and Inniskillin have the credit of creating International market for Canadian Icewine. Tried it, didn't like it and he decided not to buy any =P

It's not only great for wine tasting but what a great way to enjoy our beautiful scenery.

Peller, Sunnybrook & Stonechurch (Niagara-on-the-Lake ~ Pt 2)

After our lunch at Southbrook here, we went on to visit more wineries to totally satisfied my Dad... there's just nothing better for a wine lover than to complete the Wine Route at Niagara-on-the-Lake (^_^)  And before you start, it's a good idea to print out a map available here or get one at any Winery or Visiting Center to get an easy view of where all the wineries are.

 1st stop ~ Peller Estate
This is probably the most visited winery in the area, it's always packed and not to mention their award wining Restaurant.... not to mention that they have a great wine pairing tasting menu but just look at this magnificent view (^v^)

Most winery offer free tasting if you end up making a purchase. But at Peller, you'll have to pay for all your tasting although it's at a minimal charge...

This is the place for alternative to grape wine which have all sorts of  fruit wine. And if you have a headache when having regular wine, this is a great alternative. We tried a few glasses here and although we are all not big fan, it was not sweet as I expected like most fruit wine t be.
