The Olde Angel Inn

This is my second time at The Olde Angel Inn and I think it`s one of the less `tourist-y`` restaurant at Niagara-on-the-lake. It`s also a good escape from all the wine and enjoy a good old pint of cold beer =P

OH, I heard that the place is haunted but maybe because we went during the day on both occasion, we didn`t have any special ``encounters``.

We were lead to the back room, very old decor

Niagara-on-the-Bridge

Pass by this bridge on our way to Niagara-on-the-lake after a night stay here.
It was a mistake wearing this dress that I bought at F21 in Buffalo the day before since it was so light that it keep blowing up (>_<)

Pizza Junction

After reading Stella's (Food Junkie Chronicles) Diners, Drive-ins & Dives adventure, I was particularly drawn to her post for  Pizza Junction here. I swear I gain almost 10 pounds in a year following her blog and trying out the places she recommend, probably another 2 pounds for this one. Since I got the hotel deal for Niagara falls that I mention here, we decided to head down to Buffalo for Lunch and do some shopping before checking in to the Hotel later on.

Very dated decor, just look at this place-mat with all the ads and the fake flower

Ben ordered a beer but since I know I'll be full from the beer, I skip it to leave room for the pizza

Since we went for Lunch, we only order 2 small pizza and no appetizers, both pizza being feature on Diners, Drive-ins & Dives and on Stella's blog.
 Beef on Weck Pizza
~ tender slow roasted beef with tomatoes and horseradish sauce
I'm not so sure about this pizza, the overall flavor of everything was relatively mild in flavor (even the horseradish which I expected to be stronger) but with the kosher salt on the edge was overly salty in contrast to the filling =(

The Rainbow Room (Niagara Falls)

As I've mention here, my deal for the hotel gave me a $40 coupon for dinner at the hotel's restaurant The Rainbow Room by Massimo Capra. I originally thought how bad could Massimo's restaurant be since I love Fraticelli's. But oh my.... if not for the view I'll be very very un-happy (>_<). The old and passe, def need a face lift...

I thought for a tourist attraction like this, they would have a better wine list especially to promote some of our local Ontario wine.... but there was barely 5 Red and 3 White to choose from.
Horrible wine selection and the one that we never had was horrible =(

The best part of the night may be the complimentary bread that was hot and fresh served with a spicy chilli flakes, hummus,  balsamic vinegar and olive oil mixture
.

Hello Kitty

Went on a short overnight trip to Niagara Falls on the Victoria day long weekend and that was my Outfit day one for my trip to Buffalo for my pizza crave at Pizza Junction and for a small shopping trip at Target & Walden Galleria (post to follow).

I just want to make it clear that I'm not a Hello Kitty fan but just love the colorful sort of fluorescent  bows on it and that was the only reason I bought this =P

SOMA

I have already declare my love of SOMA previously here and here, so during my visit to Distillery, I just have to drop by to replenish my chocolate stash =P
We were so full when we headed there after our lunch here, so we end up buying the a bunch of snacks to go and their gelato.

So many to choose from and I wanted all of them =P

Ok I can't buy every single one, but here's what we got.

Chips ~ Snappy handmade almond crisps
This is so airy light, super crispy and not very sweet which allow the almond shine throu

English Toffee ~ handmade toffee with Peruvian dark chocolate 64% & Almonds
Love the big big peaces of almond on it instead of the usual chopped up one =P

Dark Chocolate Bark ~ thin sheets of 64% Peruvian dark Chocolate with berry handmade toffee, roasted cacao bean nibs, feuilletine, spiked with beautiful little barberries
Need I say more, I already declare my love here.
Just a perfect combination of sweet, bitter and tangy lemony flavor with the perfect combination of texture from all the ingredients.

Malena

I have been meaning to try out Melana for quite a while but got push back to to my ever increasing of my to-eat list. I finally got to it after our day at the Distillery here, here & here. We had an early reservation at 6:45 and as we arrive, the place was rather empty and my friends were questioning me about my choice... and I assure them that it's because it's a beautiful day and people are staying out late (crossing my fingers at the same time, wishing that the food are indeed good) and good thing people start poring it after 8:00 =D

Really like the decor and their second floor which is available for private party up to 40 are even prettier. Love the Vintage light dangling down =P

♥ the chairs

Love the Stainless Steel wine rack, great contrast to the woody/ neutral decor
