Peter Pan Bistro [French/British - Summerlicious 2015]

After closing up last year, Peter Pan Bistro (@peterpanbistro) is reopened by Chef Noah Goldberg previously The Feasting Room. Reopened earlier this year, we never made our way there mainly because last time we had a tasting dinner at The Feasting Room we left unsatisfied with the tiny mini portion and I have read mix review about this new place.

With their Summerlicious (@LiciousTO) menu only at $35, I don't see why not give it a try and given it's such a convenient location right on the busy Queen St W and Peter Street which was perfect after a mini shopping session (^_<). And glad I did, it was probably one of my favorite Licious experience/meal I ever had.

Love how they kept a lot of the original details like the bar back, chrome stools, booths, lights and the tin ceiling which dates back to 1930s. Also love the wall "taxidermy" art/tapestry which no animal is harm in the process. Also heard that the 2nd floor private dinning space is open for business.

Although we love the interior, we can't resist to pass on the amazing weather and not sit on the patio. Love the secluded back patio, away from the busy Queen Street.

Bread w/ roasted garlic
They caught my attention already, love the fragrant stinky garlic instead of the old boring butter although wish the bread was sliced a little bit thinner and maybe more than one slice per person.

Welsh Rarebit
~ Worcestershire caviar
I only had it once here before but this version is definitely more memorable with the caviar bubbles made with Worcestershire sauce (it's not actual caviar) was a very cute way of presenting this dish, really just the toast on it's own would be pretty ugly.

Country Pork Terrine
~ pickled vegetables, mustard, toast
Usually I find pork terrine a bit "dry" but this was perfectly moist and delicious and love the amount of the pickled veggies they give you.

Chicken
~ ballotine leg, mousse, carrots, red onion, mash potato
I usually avoid ordering Chicken while Ben would and in this case I order the main he wanted and we never order the same thing. Good choice this time since it was so moist, tender and packed with flavors plus the colorful plating ♥  Not sure what meat the chicken was stuffed with but it was delicious. The menu said mash potato but it was more a smashed potato and even that was delicious.

Bath Chaps
~ celery, radishes, turnips, lentil vinaigrette
A dish originated from the city of Bath England, it is made with pig's cheek. Peter Pan's version was was made with a de-boned pig's head with pork loin rolled into it, then brine, braised and fried. Fatty crispy melt in your mouth goodness!!! Even the lentils are delicious without being too heavy with it's vinaigrette and the crisp celery salad was perfect to cut down the fattiness of the pork.
Yes, I clean my plate!

Strawberries & Cream
~ balsamic meringue, strawberry basil ice cream
Love every bite of my dessert which was not very sweet from the balsamic meringue which was perfect and amazing to the basil strawberry ice cream although with the basil flavor was a tad stronger (me being a basil addict).

Chocolate Terrine
~ coffee anglaise, chocolate sauce, cocoa nib brittle
Although this was delicious, it was quite heavy after all these food and the hot weather.

Verdict:
Perfect portion size and a deal at $35pp for this Summerlicious menu.
Service couldn't be better even though it's Summerlicious unlike most other restaurants.
Love the interior and also the cozy secluded back patio.
Will have to come back to try the rest of the menu or maybe Brunch as well.
