Menswear

Skirt: F21, Sweater: H&M men, Faux leather jacket : Zara, Circle Scarf: Men's section from UO online, Tights: H&M, Shoe: Jeffery Campbell

Just discover how well men's sweater fits, it's longer and give you the perfect loose fit which is readily available at lower price then most loose fit / oversize women sweater.
Plus I can share it with Ben, so it gets twice the wear.
Shhhhh but I'll probably be borrowing a few of his sweater from now on =P

Fabbrica

Went to Mark McEwan newest restaurant Fabbrica last weekend for lunch. It's a traditional Italian concept restaurant with the requisite antipasti, primi and secondi headings. They also have a Wood burning brick oven from Naples which cook their Neapolitan pizzas in 90 seconds... since we went for lunch, we only order a main each so this will be a short post.

 The wood burning pizza oven

Their bread was served warm and was super fresh
(we had a second)

 Margherita Pizza
~ nothing special, found that there's a big too much sauce and sort of overwhelm the mozzarella and basil taste. Really not worth the $16 and would really have wish I went back to my favorite Pizza Libretto =P

Burger Bar

Once again me with my coupon that I got on dealicious for $15 for $30 worth at Burger Bar. I was just feeling better after being sick the whole week and I didn't want anything too fancy since I'm still a bit tasteless from the stuffy nose etc but still want to get out of the house... so here we are for lunch and also so that I can go crab a latte at Manic =P

The OMGTMJKM Burger (oh my goodness this might just kill me)
~ 8oz pattie w/ chili, a fried egg, blue, brie, chevre, bacon and an onion ring on whole wheat
Ok, we basically order this for the name sake but it was huge and the first thing both of us said (and the table next to us) was OMG how are you suppose to eat this.
But Ben manage to squeeze it into his mouth without deconstructing it =D
I really didn't feel like the chili did anything to it since the minced beef was dry and do you even need more beef on top of the pattie?!?

Chinese Dumpling House (真東北餃子王)

I have been a regular at Chinese Dumpling House (真東北餃子王) located at Metro Square (3636 Steeles Ave East) for years and I love their Steam Dumpling. Generally Chinese serve dumpling 3 ways : steam, boil or pan fried. I really am not that into pan-fried dumplings since I find it way too oily. My favorite boil dumpling is at Dumpling King (東北餃子王) at 3290 Midland Ave. Here, their steam version rule although their boil version are really not that great (^_^) ......

Cucumber & Pig Ears w/ chili oil
~ this was a cold appetizer. Refreshing cucumber w/ super crispy pig ears

Steamed Vegetarian Dumplings (Egg & Leek)
~ this is my favorite... this is a lot from me since I'm definitely a carnivore. This is a must order every time I visit

♦♦♦ Studded ♦♦♦

My Sam Edelman York Studded Platform finally arrive got it for under $100 on Beyond the Rack, this is normally retail for more than $200.
If you haven't heard about Beyond the Rack, you should take a look, they offer limited of discounted brand items and have daily events.

This will be a great subdue version to my Spiky Sam Edelman Lorissa from here.
This one is much lighter but still have the studs that I love. The pictures doesn't really show, but the inner heels have a mirror finish. Love it in suede since it'll be rather S&M-ish if it was in leather or patent leather with the mirror heel and studs.

Summer in Winter

It's freezing cold this past weekend and I'm missing spring, summer and fall... so I decided to brighten up my day with a fun summer cherry dress.
Btw I didn't go out like that, I did put on my huge jacket after this pic

Cowbell

Have been meaning to go to Cowbell for a while and we finally went on Saturday (giving up all my "coupon" restaurant).

It's probably nice to note that Cowbell is the first restaurant in Toronto to get LEAF certification for its green ways:

They change their menu daily according to what they get in fresh each day and it's display on the blackboards (only got 2)... we sat right next to it and good thing is we have no problem reading it bad thing is that everyone will be staring at your direction trying to read it =P

The breads are in-house made
It was super yummy, moist and full of flavour without being sour dought, I love how you could actually taste the "flour" itself in the bread

Duck Liver Pate w/ Sourdough & Pickles
~ this can easily be my main on it's own... since I still want to have room for my main, I practically share 1/2 with Ben =P
I find duck liver make the best pate, fatty enough without being too oily, very smooth texture melt in your mouth good.

Venison Sausage & St Albert Cheese Curd Poutine
(you may have notice from the menu above that it forgot to mention it was a poutine)
Ben just have to have it, although I'm not a big fan of poutine I have to say this is really good. It came piping hot and you can practically see the Cheese keep melting in front of you.

Cape

Coco Lezzone

After our un-satisfying Italian dinner here last month, we went to another more trusted Italian restaurant the first opportunity we got. I heard really good thing about Coco Lezzone and was betting on a satisfying meal.

Started with some bread and wine
(btw, I don't know what make him order this bottle but it was very very terrible)

Bruschetta
Toasted Italian Bread with tomato, basil, garlic and parmigiano cheese
Really good combination of flavour and the drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette.

Octopus
Grilled Moroccan octopus with mixed peppers, arugula and capers in a red wine vinagrette
~ taste as good as it looks. I was really surprise of the large portion, I could easily just have this as a light dinner.

Keung Kee Restaurant

Went out for dinner mid-week with Ben and his mum, nothing better than having one of my fave yummy hot and hearty Chinese soup at Keung Kee Restaurant at Warden & Steeles (T and T plaza).

Street Style Rice Roll 街邊腸粉
~ Love the extra peanut & sweet sauce w/ toasted sesame. This is the closest you can get in Toronto, of course nothing beats the real thing they have in HK

Pork Bone w/ mustard veggies Soup 豬骨大芥菜湯
~ so hot, warm, yummy, flavorful goodness. Will warm you up in the cold Winter months
We order this each time we went to Keung Kee, even just the 2 of us and we'll just have this and nothing else =P

Snacks =P

Since it'll be a cold cold freezing weekend, I was thinking maybe a lot of you are thinking about curling up at home and what better than sitting in front of the tv with a bunch of snacks. Yes, being a Couch Potato... nothing better than curling up with my stack of snacks and TVB-ing (Watching Hong Kong TVB Chinese drama).... LOL =P Sorry but for this post, the snacks that I'm featuring are mostly from Hong-Kong/Japan snack store that's mostly available in Chinese Malls.

My addiction of the moment, SUPER SUPER SPICY Frito Lay Chips.
Ok the "DEATH" part tell you how spicy it is
I bought like 4packs last time but only have this last one left and it's currently sold out everywhere in Toronto (if anyone see this, please let me know asap)

Another Super Super Spicy Rings
I have never been able to find this again... my co-worker bought this at TnT and it was way too spicy for him so he gave it to me =P

BIg Fat Burrito

We did eat before our visit to Ideal Coffee here, we can't live without coffee but we can't live on coffee alone. We want something heavy for lunch hat day so what else better than a big fat Burrito =P You can't help but the garage store, in the summer it's open wide like a big patio and the feel is so casual that you sort of feel at home in your own garage...

We order 2 big fat burrito, one chicken and one steak
There was 5 level of spiciness and we got both in 5... it was quite spicy and I ♥ spicy.

i deal Coffee (feature: Wanda's Pie In the Sky)

This is my first time at i deal Coffee and I have been meaning to try for a while since it's been voted #1 by blog TO as The Best Cafes in Toronto (West Side). I just can't believe Manic Coffee is only #10, it's the best in my opinion =P

Super long handles =P

Latte ~ it's good but not great and no fancy latte art here =(
It's not even in my top 5

Gourmet Garden (膳園) - Malaysian & Singaporean Cuisine (food-court)

I have known about this place for years, me & my friends use to go there almost every week during our university years. I thought it was a very well know place for good cheap Malay & Singapore fare but one of my friends just posted some pics of her visit and described it as a hidden gem. I guess it's not that well known afterall, so I decided to blog about it and share it with the world. Gourmet Garden (膳園) is located in a small food-court at 4465 Sheppard Ave  (plaza next to Joey Bravo).

Chicken Satay Skewers @ $5.80 for 6pcs
At that price, I would say it's best deal in town although I would say the sauce is a bit too sweet to my liking but the chicken itself was very well marinated.

Penang Prawn Mee (賓城蝦湯麵) @ $5.80
(only available Sat & Sun)
My favorite!!! The paste in the spoon is just a super concentrate of prawn flavour, I wish they sell that on it's own so that I can have it with my instant noodle at home whenever I like =P
The 3 big shrimps was also super tasty and I was so surprise how nice the bowl are for a food-court.
A MUST TRY !!!

La Neige

Let it snow, let it snow!!!
It look so pretty outside when I woke up Saturday 2 week ago (^_^)
And it was quite warm given the amount of snow that we got overnight and it was sunny for a change

Outfit Detail: Coat-Zara (on sale for $39); Super long Circle Scarf - UO online; my trusty old UGG

So glad I got this coat since I've been looking for a cute Navy coat for a while and love the super long circle scarf that was from the men's department and it can basically go around 3-4 times =P
Wish I could wear heels but me being clumsy and all, this means me risking slipping, twist an ankle or even break an arm and a leg... so better just stick with my winter boots for now =(

Ed's Real Scoop (feature: Mercury Espresso Bar)

I have been raving Ed's Real Scoop (@Eds_Real_Scoop) for a while now, so I decided to share some pictures I took during a few visits and many other times that I went but didn't take any pictures..... I basically like ice cream/ gelato anytime of the year....

Pistachio & Blood Orange Gelato
~ nothing special about the Pistachio but the Blood Orange was so refreshing on this hot summer day
Red Hot Chili Chocolate & Green apple Gelato
~  the Chili Chocolate is my favorite flavor, Chili & Chocolate are just my favorite flavor combination... it's not really spicy but just give you a hint of aftertaste, so even if you can't eat spicey you can still enjoy this. Whereas the Green Apple flavor was just too subtle and can't really taste the flavor next to the chocolate or any other flavor, so I would suggest to enjoy it on it's own.
