Their bread was pretty good and I end up eating two of them.
Snowflake Martini $12
~ Dillon's vodka + elderflower liqueur + fresh lime + white cranberry
Kensington Brewing Company
Maple Whisky Cured Organic Salmon
~mint yogurt, candied pecans, Ontario Beets, crostini
Couldn't really taste the Maple Whisky but it was delicious as it is. I would never have pair beets w/ cured salmon but everything work out great.
Parsnip Bisque
~ roasted Pears, double smoked bacon
It was smooth and flavorful. Love the contrast of the salty smokey bacon and the slightly tart pears with the creamy soup.
Ontario Delft Blue Grain Fed Veal Osso Bucco
~ potato gnocchi, root vegetables, kale, gremolata (local)
This was a huge portion, could have easily feed the 2 of us. It was flavorful, fall off the bone moist and tender. This jus with the gnocchi was great but wish the gnocchi was a tad fluffier.
Pomegranate Glazed Artic Char
~ navy bean purée, pistachios, roasted cipollini, arugula, chive oil
The fish was perfectly cook with perfectly crispy skin and the bean purée was surprisingly smooth.
Apple Caramel Cheesecake
~ Calvados sour cream, praline crust
Love the slices of apple in between the crust and cheesecake which added extra texture and flavor to it. Even better with the light caramel sauce.
Café Mocha Chocolate Cake
~ almond wafer, vanilla ice cream
This was probably the only dish of the night that we didn't really enjoy. This was a dark, thick decadent Chocolate cake but somehow something wasn't right both texture and flavor wise.
Oh and the ice cream was somehow missing?!
Verdict :
Service was just as great as last time and the dishes was great especially for Winterlicious Prix Fixe menu.
Winterlicious last until Feb 13, 2014, still plenty of time to make a reservation (details here)
