We didn't order much since we have an early "epic" dinner reservation coming up (by epic I mean 21 course tasting menu, post will be coming up). We ordered a dish each without drink by oh my, the portion was huge and we could barely finished them.
Love the dark gloomy diner décor of the space with the light signs. This is the perfect place to get your big portion of hangover cure after a night of partying in Vegas.
"Peanut Bubba" Crunchy French Toast $14.95
~ "Mon's French Toast" dipped in a peanut butter crunch, then grilled to perfection. Topped w/powdered sugar and vanilla whipped cream (Hubba, Hubba, Peanut Bubba!)
When this arrive, I was shocked at how humongous it was... how is it even possible for such a big slice of bread?! This was perfect with the crunch of the peanuts and the crust the peanut butter batter it was dipped it. It didn't even need the maple syrup but with my best effort, I was barely able to finish one slice and Ben had to finish the other with leftover.
Tequila Sunrise $14.95
~ The Griddle Café's very own huevos rancheros! Two corn tortillas topped with refried beans, two eggs sunny side up. Jack and Cheddar cheese and covered with a gold tequila-spiked ranchero sauce! Served w/ chicken tequila sausage. Add Sour Cream & Avocado $1.95
The presentation here wasn't the best really, Ben barely wanted to take a picture of this dish. It's just blob over blob. I usually prefer salty dishes but could pass on the French Toast, so we decided to order one each and share. With the added hot sauce (there was 4 to choose from at the table), it was weirdly satisfying after a long hungry early plane ride. Presentation aside, it was delicious especially the tequila ranchero sauce.
It definitely seems top be a lot of sauce at first glance but trust me, we finish every last drop of it. My only wish was for something crunchy, a slice of toast on the side would have been great.
Verdict:
Service was a tad slow but great friendly staff.
I always have to remind myself that American portion tends to be bigger
Saw people ordering the pancakes and it was an even bigger portion than the French toast (2" thick, size of the plate), should have order that instead just for it's epic-ness =P
This is a rather affordable spot in Vegas compare to most hotel restaurants.

Wow, it really looks great, but isn't 14,95 a bit too much for a cocktail? How much alcohol do they put in it? I've only been to the bar at my hotel (one from the Hotelscheap chain and I remember thinking that $10 is too much for a Cosmopolitan. But I guess I'm just used to the cheaper prices in not so touristy places.
ReplyDeleteDidn't order cocktail, I guess you mean the Tequila Sunrise , that's just their name of the dish (their version of huevos rancheros)
