After another amazing meal at County General here, it remind me to try their newly opened sister restaurant The County Cocktail & Snack Bar (@countycocktail). It just happened to be in one of my favorite neighborhood, Leslieville.
I was pleasantly surprise that the place was not packed since their Queen West location is always packed It's a rather small space but love the bright red chair and stool, plus isn't it amazing what wood blocks can do.
The First Word $13
~ Beefeater London Dry Gin, Strega, St. Germain, Lemon
Love lemony cocktail and the beefeater flavor was very subtle here which was I fond perfect
Love how they served all local wine with five red and five white by the glass and by bottle to choose from, all at a really reasonable price with the most expensive bottle at $60
Bites
Love those little bites, not only are they cute but they were all delicious.
Beef Cheek, Mushroom, Scallion, Ginger, Steamed Bun $4
Cod Fritter Deviled Egg, Pickled Ginger $5
Cheese Puffs, Momay, Onion Jam $3
Fish N Chip, Anchovy, Chips, Garlic Tar Tar Sauce $4
Pork Plate $45
~ Roasted Shoulder, Chorizo, Boudin Noir, Pork Belly, Salsa Verde, Carrot Ginger Slaw
First off, they need to work on the presentation, love the small pot for the pulled pork and all but the random slab of meat and mustard on the white plate is just not working. The Chorizo is a tad dry and the pork belly is rather plain looking, maybe broiled it to give it a more golden glazed and the side of taco which was extremely dry and crumbly. Love the Boudin Noir although it does fall apart but taste amazing and the pulled pork with the hoisin like sauce. The pickled veggies and sauces on the side was also amazing and complimented the meat really well.
The King $4
~ Fried PB, Banana & Candied Bacon
OMG, best $4 spend ever... didn't really expect to be a french toast style sandwich. Amazing custard bread with simple PB and banana topped with their amazing candied bacon.
I will come back just for this ♥
Verdict :
Love the bites and the amazing dessert, will def come back just for them
Maybe a pre-dinner snack / happy hour?!
Hope they will work on the platter
