Animal Print 3rd round

Yes, I have been a bit obsessed of leopard print this year and you may have seen my 1st and 2nd Animal Print posts here and here. Which one do you like best ?!?

I still have a few more pieces of leopard print that I have bought, so more to come =P

est west

My co-worker have been raving about est west, a rather new Korean restaurant at First Markham Place (FMP). Since it was a week day and after a late shopping trip, decided to head someplace near for dinner and Korean cuisine is a always go to meal choice for me if I want something satisfying and affordable =D

One things I especially love about Korean food is all the different king of complimentary Side Dishes.
The ones here was very so-so but they have slices of slightly pickled mango which is a 1st at a Korean restaurant for me (normally find it in Thai or Malay food)

Buckwheat Noodle w/ cold broth
I didn't really like it, the flavor was lacking, no cold enough (at all of the other places I had this, theirs had ice in it but not this one) and the noodle was the cheap variety.
Just look at the color of the noodle, nothing compare to the yumminess I had here.

Pi-Tom's Thai Cuisine

Have been craving for some Thai food and just happen to have a Dealfind deal available for Pi-Tom's Thai Cuisine for the Yonge & Alexander location (they have another location at Jarvis & Dundas). We arrive at 8pm and the patio was packed, so we had to sit inside instead (>_<). Seeing how packed it was, I was quite excited cause it must be good (^_^).

Of course we have to start with a Thai Beer each =P

Satay Beef skewers w/ cucumber salad
There was choice of beef, chicken, lamb or shrimp... Beef was definitely a BAD CHOICE, it was very flavorful but incredibly tough. It took me minutes and minutes to chew though one and a few piece that was so tough that I had to spit it out (>_<) Chicken would definitely have been a better choice.

Authentic Pad Thai
~ Thai rice noodle stir fried w/ chicken, shrimp, tofu, bean sprouts in a sweet and sour tamarind and coconut sauce wrapped in a egg crepe
This was obviously not as good as the ones form Sukhothai and Khao San Road (here) but still very good and definitely no ketchup involve =D Great alternative when you don't want to bump into a lineup at Khao San Road.

Feline Fever

Kitty dress + cat-eye glasses... This is actually a fake glasses, I'm not daring enough to actually get a real one (yes, I need contacts/glasses).

You may have notice that this little green house at the back have been the backdrop of many of my outfit post, it's our Backyard and currently it's been rip off to be replaces by a brand new one (Ben's mum decision). I personally love how old it is but apparently parents think differently (>_<)
RIP little green house, you will be missed

HECHO EN MEXICO @ Kensington

After all the food from Food Truck Eats here, we decided to go for a walk at Kensington Market.
We browse around and when passing by Pancho's Bakery for some Churros. But realize that it was already made and not fried to order as the one I had here, maybe it was too late in the day already.

There was a lady who was waiting for her food in front of the Hencho en Mexico booth and she start raving about everything there and told us we have to try.
So we decided to give at least one a try since we were still stuff from here and still have dinner plans coming up. We originally wanted the Green Tostada but they didn't have enough avocado for this, so we ordered the Green Ceviche instead.
While chatting with them, they told us that we may see them at the next Food Truck Eats... I shoud def look out for them and try their other stuff =D

We'll have to try this next time, looks good (^_^)

This was one of the very best Ceviche I ever had... super fresh fish and green tomatoes with just the right amount of tartness which goes perfectly together with the fresh creamy avocado. My only complain is that the place it piping hot and the tacos was not fried properly and wasn't crispy at all.
I will definitely go back for more =P

Toronto Food Truck Eats (pt 2)

After my horrible experience for part 1 here, I plan ahead and decided to get to Food Truck Eat Part 2 before it actually start. It was announce on twitter the day before that with $10 donation to Second Harvest, you got to start at 10:00am although the event wasn't suppose to start until 11:00am, some sort of VIP access. And also, this time around 3 other friends join us so the 5 of us could line up for different things at the same time (here). This time around there's also a lot more participating vendors and trucks, that is a total of 13 trucks and 13 vendors.
So we arrive at 10:30pm and start lining up for Gorilla Cheese, but the line up was already so long and we may not even be served by 11:00. Not wanting to wast our VIP access, Ben decided to head over to El Gastronomo Vagabundo since last time we were there, the line up for these 2 was the longest.

This time around their menu wasn't as interesting as last time where they had 3 choices; a taco, prok belly and wings.... this time around there was only 2 choices; the Chili Corn Fritters and
the "Bangkok Dangerous" Taco.
The corn fritters were amazing, what a great start to the morning. The outside was a little bit crispy, the inside was fluffy and the cucumber basil and hot & sour sauce gave them a punch of flavor.

On the other hand, the taco was very bland.... it was supposed to have green curry, coconut cream adn pickled lotus root which was all so subtle that I didn't taste any of those ingredient. I you would have told me that the pork was blenched, I would have totally believe you.

What I wore for CNE (^v^)

What you wear when you plan to eat all of this?!?
First off, something loose and it didn't help that it was super windy that day.
Secondly is a comfy walking shoes (I never understand how gurls can wear heels to places like that)
So nothing fancy for a day of  DF overdose and fun at CNE 2011
